USTSA Summer Camps 2000

The next USTSA telemark camp is August 18-21, 2000 at Timberline Lodge and Ski Resort. And yes, there's great skiing there in August.

Camp Activities

On Snow Training: First you'll focus on ski technique with gate drills and skating exercises. By days three and four you'll focus on course training, racing tactics and refining your technique.

Video Analysis: Every camp participant receives daily video feedback. A personal video will given to each participant at the end of the camp.

Afternoon Activities: Video analysis sessions will be followed by a variety of dry land training workouts including: trail running, body lifts and in line skating exercises. There is also great mountain biking and hiking in the area.

Evening Activities: Lectures will be given on nutrition, strength and aerobic training, racing video review and ski preparation techniques.

Camp Staff

Jimmy Ludlow: USTSA President and US Telemark National Team member, PSIA examiner and USSCA Level II ski coach. Jimmy teaches skiing in Park City, Utah.

Grayson Davis: PSIA Level III instructor in alpine and nordic skiing, USSCA Level III ski coach. Grayson teaches at Snowbird, Utah.

Craig Panarisi: Three-time PSIA National Team member and current national team coach. Assistant ski school director at Solitude ski area.

The camp costs $375, which includes lift passes, on snow and dry land training, personal video, camp T-shirt and closing dinner. The registration deadline is August 4, 2000.

There are several options for lodging, camping, dining and stocking your cooler at nearby Government Camp. Timberline ski area is 55 miles east of Portland. The Portland International Airport is serviced by all major airline carriers. Timberline is 180 miles south of Seattle, Washington.
