Italy's Karen Putzer put in a dominating performance, winning the women's Super-G at Lillehammer by more than half a second over Alexandra Meissneitzer of Austria and Martinz Ertl of Germany. Putzer's winning time was 1:21.77, while the two second place finishers were timed in 1:22.35.
Among U.S. Ski team members, Kirsten Clark finished 7th in a time of 1:23.01, while Jonna Mendes checked in in 11th position. Mendes was clocked in 1:23.60. Julia Mancuso of the U.S. wound up 21st in 1:26.98.
The women conclude their World Cup season with a slalom on Saturday and GS on Sunday. For the Americans, the season is not over, however. The U.S. team is off to Lake Placid, NY, for the Chevy Truck U.S. Alpine Championships, which begin Thursday.
