Today, the 14th of September, we finally entered the Icefall. It was an exceptionally successful day, I would say.

We advanced 600 meters of the route, fixing line. We're off to a great start.

Also, it was a good day because I spoke with Brad Johnson on the radio. Leila and the trekkers had handed a radio off to him and he is still feeling great on his trek up. This morning he had his blessing from Lama Gesu at Pangboche, just as we had when we walked through Pangboche. Tonight he is at Dugla, at the base of the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, which is at about 15,100 feet. Tomorrow, Brad will walk into Base Camp to join us.

A lot of organization is still happening. Unpacking boxes of food, all that great Alpine Aire Food that was shipped to us at the last minute in the States - it's going to be a great addition to our high camp effort. It was unpacked and repackaged for camps I, II, III and IV, as well as with a lot of other supplies.

It's a big logistical operation here. The Sherpas are working hard. Maegan, David, Garry and Grant are pitching in. It's quite the scene here.

We still have a lot of rain and snow virtually every day. Yesterday we went nowhere because of early morning snow that went on through the night. Today, we had clear skies in the morning and we were out working in the sloppy, warm snow in the afternoon.

Things are progressing well, we're underway and feeling great about that.
