Hot New Skis
Sticks to bomb through pow and tear up the groomers...

Fischer's AMC 76

Atomic Sweet Daddy: The Sweet Daddy is probably Atomic's most versatile ski and a must for big mountain freeriders. With 80mm under the foot it's rigid enough for carving in the trees, but has plenty of float to bomb through powder. The new Beta 4 profile is like a sideways “b” on its back, providing the ski with essential tortional rigidity and edge grip. The Densolite core makes this ski ultra light. The Sweet Daddy is great for both aggressive skiers and adventurous intermediates. It's user friendly and flat-binding friendly too. www.atomicsnow.com

K2 Apache Outlaw: Rookies need not apply. The new Apache Outlaw is only for experts, a backcountry ski designed to tear up pow. It's boasts a wide 88mm waist, for float on the deepest of days. The new Mod Monic damping module is strategically placed to cut down on chatter. The Metal Laminate sandwich construction, offers two additional layers of glass and titanium, plus a wood core, making these skis extremely stable. Apache Outlaws come in a 167, 174, 181 and 188. Outlaws are über-stiff- ready for aggressive, high-performance, off-piste fun. www.k2skis.com

Salomon Teneighty Gun: Positioned as an all-mountain ski, the Teneighty Gun is a great backcountry and big mountain jib ski. High performing in everything except super hard conditions (sorry, no icy gnar), this is a revamp of everyone's fav, the Pocket Rocket. This twintip has relatively soft tortional flex, but it can still hold an edge on a groomer. The overshaped sidecut allows for everything from beautiful, big mountain turns to medium-radius turns. The light-weight foam core is reactive for the most athletic skiers. www.salomonski.com

Whatever you choose to make your turns on this year, whether they're old GS skis or something new and fresh, always remember to make your friends jealous, that sick days are for powder and every night's prayers should be for snow.
