Alison Gannett The Sweet Spot
I look over my shoulder— here comes a wave that looks reasonable. I paddle fiercely, catch the swell, and attempt to stand up. I waver awkwardly on my feet, the board swivels, and I plunge into the icy water. What happened? Why do I stand easily one time and fall the next? Well, of course there are a million reasons, but I find that one of the biggest factors is finding the 'sweet spot.'

But I love my other sports too: mountain biking, surfing, yoga, cross-country skiing, rock climbing, ice climbing, whitewater rafting and hoola hooping. I also love learning new sports— this year: kayaking, hockey and dirt biking. Every sport improves the other sport whether it be confidence, skill, coping with speed or gaining flexibility. I also burn out with too much of one thing, so I like to mix things up and keep things fun...
