The Warming Hut

A Mountain Hut in Greater Yellowstone

Welcome to the Warming Hut, a place for stories, essays, and opinions on Greater Yellowstone. In the course of planning their trip, Win and Joe had the opportunity to talk with many different people who are involved in the Yellowstone region. These individuals come from all fields and backgrounds. They are environmentalists, scientists, journalists, hunters, backcountry skiers, guides, naturalists, climbers, rangers, professors, conservationists, photographers, and ranchers. Most live in the immediate neighborhood. Some have logged countless miles in the backcountry. All have strong views on what makes Greater Yellowstone special. They disagree on a lot, but also have much in common.

Here in the Warming Hut, they will share pieces of their Yellowstone experiences.

Win and Joe hope that this collage of material will illuminate some of the natural and human dimensions of Greater Yellowstone's past, present, and future. Do you have something for the Warming Hut? If so, please send it here to yellowstone@mountainzone.com.
